Irving Penn was an American photographer. Best known for his portraits, fashion photography, and still life photographs. He worked with Vogue Magazine and did independent advertising with companies like Clinique. It is said that Penn's fashion photography helped shape the post-Word War II glamor photography and feminine chic. Penn was one pf the first photographers to pose his subjects in front of a plain grey or white backdrop.
